The program rigorously attacks the necessary standards in each of the four core subject areas while also developing skills requested in the business community. Interconnectivity of subject matter allows for a deeper immersion in learning. Assessment is conducted through rigorous authentic projects rather than testing. Problem solving, community service, sustainability, and 21st Century Skills are woven throughout the academic subject matter. Community Partnerships allow for students to obtain authentic experiences to compliment the interdisciplinary curriculum.
Years one and two students are taught a curriculum where the four core subjects of Math, Science, Social Studies, and English are interwoven in a thematic approach. In years three and four, students will branch out in their areas of interest through developing an apprenticeship with local businesses in their focus area. This apprenticeship will support the AP Survey, AP Research, and AP Capstone courses they will take during their Junior and Senior years.
